Horsemen of the Economic Apocalypse

January 16th, 2009

And now a personal note…

I’m pretty sure my family is somehow imbued with the grim task of being the Horsemen of the Economic Apocalypse.  I know it sounds strange, but let’s review the situation shall we?

My father, rest his dear soul, was born in July of 1929.  Not quite at the top, but darn close, and given the nastiness of the downturn, we’ll forgive him his premature warning.

Myself, born December of 1973.  Also not a great time for the markets, although I was a little slow in getting to the party.

My first kid, born October of 2008.  Ahhhhh right smack in the middle of the maelstrom.

All I know is that if my kid ever comes to me and says they’re having a baby, I’m selling everything.  We seem to have the cycle in our blood.  I’m also launching a tracker.  For just $10 a month, I’ll alert you when the next generation is imminent.  Probably a better investment than what your broker charged you last year anyways…
